We didn’t set out to make sunglasses. We set out to make the one pair you never take off.

AUREL was founded between an architect and an optician — two people who believed the objects closest to the face deserve the most consideration. Not the loudest. Not the most recognisable. Simply the most right.

Every frame begins as a block of Italian acetate from Cadore, cut by hand, finished over eleven hours, and engraved with twelve characters on the inner temple before it leaves the atelier. This is not efficiency. It is intention — and we would not do it any other way.

From block to finished frame. Four of those hours are hand-finishing. There is no shortcut for this.
